About Me

02 August 2009

I am right now working on a research paper that evaluates two natural language question answering systems as well as self-teaching myself advanced level work in biology, microeconomics, psychology, and US government for the correlated AP tests in May.

In terms of academic interests, I have quite an appetite to learn about areas of natural language processing, cognitive science, psychology, and neuroscience.  In 2008, I conducted an independent study entitled, "Is Natural Language Search still in the Stone Age?" During the summer of 2008, I had the great privilege of visiting Carnegie Mellon's Language Technologies Institute.  Check out the OpenEphyra Question Answering System.

During the fall of 2008, I worked with Alex Chernyakhovsky on SEARUMS, which is an eco-modeling, bio-simulation, and analysis environment to study the global epidemiology of Avian Influenza.

Since 2007, I'm proud to announce that Vandalia Butler's largest student organization, Butler Muse Machine, encourages its members to register online and stay informed via the World Wide Web.
